Three Truths, One Lie…

Ok, here’s the deal.  One of these things is a lie, three are truths.  I realize that alot of you don’t know me that well, but this is a game to help know me and allow me to get to know you a little better.

  1. I  did time in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
  2. I’ve had 20 residences in 27 years.
  3. I won a snowboarding competition in Colorado when I was 13.
  4. I’ve been away for over half of my daughter’s life.

Most of these answers can be found in other areas and other blogs and even recent comments on other peoples blogs.  Here’s where you come in, leave your guesses in the comments and either 1) post your own 3truths/1lie or 2) post  a 3truths/1lie on your own blog and link it with your guess in the comments.  Happy Guessing! (and no, Libby, you can not guess!)

UPDATE: After only recieving two responses (two?!) and having 16 visitors yesterday, I’ve extended this out one more day for people to guess.  Sorry to keep you waiting. :(:|:)

UPDATE 2: Ok, so here’s what both of you have been waiting for :)  ::dum DUM DUMMMM!!!:: First off, I DID spend 6 months at Guantanamo Bay.  Yes I was there for work, but i did “do time”. :)  Yeah, yeah.  Semantics, I know.  My daughter was born in October 2005.  She is 3 years old.  Since then, I was in Cuba for six months, North Carolina for three months of training before deploying to Iraq for a year.  That leaves snowboarding and a bunch of moving.  I have never snowboarded in my life.  Or snow-skied for that matter.  I’ve lived near the water for most of my life.  I surf, knee-board and jet-ski.  I have moved 20 times since I was born 27 years ago.  I have lived in FL, KY, AL, MS, TX, SD, NC, VA, Germany and Iraq.  I’m definitely tired of moving and am ready to settle down, but I’m not sure I can do that at this point.  I’m just ready to find my “home”.  So, congratulations to all the win…oh wait, there were no winners :)

    ummm . . .i'm hoping the first is a lie . . .???

    1. baptized my sister
    2. performed wedding ceremony in my backyard
    3. was escorted out of a coffee house by the police
    4. spent the night in jail for indecent exposure

Ha, I'm gonna have to guess the 1st one is a lie. The last two are out there, but could even be related so I'm thinking either both are true or both are false, which is against the rules. :)
That leaves the first two. You added more details to the second one, so I'm going to go with the first.

As for my answer, I can't reveal it until tomorrow morning! :)

    Haha!!!
I DID baptize my sister – in the bathtub when I was 7 and she was 4. It was good enough for her and so she's never been baptized since :O)
I DIDN'T spend the night in jail for indecent exposure (I get scared of public flesh, haha). Getting escorted from the coffee house was because I refused to leave (they had this rule that you had to buy something every 30mins or leave which I thought was stupid)

This is tough :) I'm hoping the first is a lie too…as in did time rather than being posted there…

However, the specific number of residences might be wrong too.

I could justify all of them I guess, but I know for sure one is correct as I saw it – haha

OK…here's mine, being deliberately very difficult

    I've sung solo in…
    1. Sydney Opera House
    2. Carnegie Hall
    3. Cologne Cathedral
    4. Westminster Abbey

I could justify all of them I guess, but I know for sure the 4th is correct as I saw it elsewhere – haha

Lol, how much tougher could you have gotten?! :)

Well, I would eliminate Sydney at first because it's in Australia but then it could be one of those ironic things.

Westminster and Cologne are both in Europe so I would guess that they are related to maybe some sort of church or choir tour.

Carnegie is the most "out there" so it could be a reasonable guess as well. I think I'm gonna go with #2, Carnegie Hall.

        Kerching! Good logic.

And I have sung in Carnegie as well…just not solo. The closest to solo it got there was as part of a quartet.

It was all part of choir tours, I just often got the solo tenor lines in the ethereal pieces…as opposed to operatic tenor, cos I sure ain't that – haha

um . . .it's tomorrow! post the answer!
And also I'm guessing that David's no.4 is a lie. I hear NO ONE sings solo at Westminster Abbey. LoL! (I totally have NO idea)

Did you not see the update up top? I pushed it off for one more day. :)

      • David August 12, 2009 at 11:49 pm #

oh the stress of waiting ANOTHER day.

        Hey, it's already another day here… ;)

    • David August 12, 2009 at 11:53 pm #

And Sarah, that might be true of Westminster now…but I'm old, and they were being nice to Australians that day back in 1990. Maybe… ;)

I think David and I should win for actually taking a stab at the answer :O)
And also . . .David, how old are you exactly??? LoL! (I can ask that cuz you're not a girl)

    • David August 21, 2009 at 12:30 am #

Notice how I avoided this for nearly a week… ;)

      I'm 35…..
